Task description and requirements

The goal of the project is to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Data Engineering Guide specifically for SAP Datasphere. This guide is intended to serve as a central knowledge resource to support data engineers in the effective use and execution of data integration, transformation, and modeling processes within the SAP Datasphere platform.

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer – SAP Datasphere Specialist to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive Data Engineering Guide for the SAP Datasphere platform.

The required skills would be:

• Very strong understanding of SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
• Strong skills and experience in CI/CD pipeline definition, creation & implementation
• First experience with Hybrid Cloud environments
• Know how in training data engineers

Optional skills include:

• Experience with data integration methods (ETL, ELT, etc.)
• Experience in integration of structured and unstructured data

The main task of the project:

Conceptual Design and Development of a Datasphere Engineering Guide: Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive Datasphere engineering guide, outlining best practices, design patterns, and standards for Bosch, focusing on data product development, data governance, and data mesh principles

Other responsibilities within the project include:

• CI/CD Pipeline Implementation for Datasphere: Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for automating the deployment and management of data products and related artifacts within SAP Datasphere, ensuring code quality and efficient delivery
• SAP Datasphere Template Development: Develop reusable Datasphere templates based on Bosch's specific use cases and integration patterns, promoting efficiency and consistency across data product development projects. This includes templates for data pipelines, data models, and data quality rules
• Datasphere Project Delivery: Develop and implement SAP Datasphere solutions to meet customer requirements, including proof-of-concept (PoC) development and full-scale implementations of data products and data pipelines
• Data Integration Migration Planning: Provide expert consulting services for migrating existing data integration pipelines and data warehousing solutions to SAP Datasphere, developing comprehensive migration plans and strategies
• Training and Mentorship: Train, guide, and support Bosch data engineers on SAP Datasphere best practices, data product development, data mesh principles, and troubleshooting
