Personal summary

Is it me or does commercial profit take priority over personal well-being, even access to necessities like community, warmth, food and shelter? Look around at the world right now and it’s not hard to become dismayed. The price of living, exorbitant interest rates, reduced capacity for empathy. It’s hard to witness. According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS), 75% of adults in the UK are concerned about the rising cost of living. Tightening our collective belts seems high on be on the agenda. Depriving ourselves, not only of experiences like the annual family holiday but, food and clothing is, and will continue to trend, as the years unfold. It’s easy to feel deprived. To lose the best of things – hope. Like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Especially when interest rates are going up and up and the price of kitchen roll in my local Waitrose is £4.50! The Affect this Has on People You can see the pressure, the strain on people’s faces. In their actions. They might not be in survival mode – yet, but people are certainly more self-absorbed than any time I can recollect since the 2008 economic crash. And who can blame them. Turn on the news, search Google, listen to a podcast, even listen to conversations in the pub and the cost-of-living crisis is the hop topic. It’s on everyone’s lips. People are bombarded with sad news. Hope is being eroded. In my local town there’s a homeless woman. She sits by Costa’s with a cardboard sign. Every single day people walk by her. She’s always there on the cold concrete, a cardboard sign in hand, just asking for some help. She’s lucky to have a handful of pennies in the, frayed dirty flat cap by the time the sun is setting. Yet, she smiles. A sad smile. She’s grateful to anyone who tosses a few coins her way. When I hand her a pound or two, she squeezes my arm. It looks like she’s about to cry. Life is tough. More so for some than others. But we should NEVER lose our empathy. Our gratitude. Our connections with one another. Our hope. Why Consider Me? I could tell you that I have a decade of experience as a content writer. I could tell you that I have worked for blue-chip brands like Google, Scottish Enterprise and General Electric. I could tell you that I’ve written content for clients in the UK, USA, UAE, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. However, what’s more important is my ability to understand people. A good content writer knows that the primary goal of their copy is to understand and therefore influence audiences. You must compel people to read and remember your copy. From the first sentence to the last. You must give them every reason to act. To click on that Contact Us link. Make that phone call. Complete that Get in Touch form. This is what I do. I am creative. I am a good writer. I know how to influence audiences. No matter who they are and what they value. Interested in learning more about me, and what I can offer you. Please feel free to reach out.
