Personal summary

My name is Sara Atuesta. I am a Lawyer graduated of the #1 University of my country, Colombia. I have been working for over a year total and over ten months in Law firms or Companies in the legal aspect. I worked in the U.S based law firm C.R Wannamaker Law, as a legal administrative assistant, where I gained experience helping immigrants obtain the permits and documentations necessary to stay as legal citizens in the US. In July, I began working in a Canadian company called Cascara Energy where I, as a paralegal, handle all the legal documents among different responsibilities outside and regarding Canadian laws. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and I have experience communicating with native speakers in both languages. I have excellent listening, reading, and writing abilities. I am proficient in Zoom (I have a pro zoom account), Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and many other computer apps. I am proficient in talking to clients, answering phones, sending emails, faxes, completing information. I speak excellent English and I have a passion for law and knowledge of legal terms. As a law student, I got involved in the United Nations Model from my University – called MONUA. I have been participating since 2018 in the logistics department doing various jobs. I began as a logistic press agent in 2018, became the Chief of Logistics Press in 2019, and on the canceled UN Model of 2020, I was the Under-Director General of Events. In the last version of the Model in 2021, I was the Under-Director General, which means I was one of the four on the Board of Directors. This means that in the logistics department, I will be second in command. MONUA is commonly known as the most significant UN Model in Latin America, having delegates from countries such as Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Chile, México, France, and other countries each year. As the Under-Director General, my responsibilities varied from speaking with University Administrators to having meetings with potential delegates from different countries and nationalities and organizing and conducting interviews for the Senior Staff and Academic and Logistics Staff that will help build the UN Model. Other duties include making sure things are going smoothly, fixing any problem that may surface, and being in charge and aware of each area. This is to say I have excellent time, stress, and teamwork management. In the UN Model, I gained experience in problem-solving and communication. I developed my abilities in planning and managing logistics, answering calls, coordinating orders, among other things. I am excellent in people and soft skills, and I am very proficient in Microsoft Office, MacOs and Outlook since I have been required to use them for years. Of the most valuable things this experience, along with my student experience, is dealing with different kinds of people with different personalities and reactions to any possible situation. Among the staff, there are approximately over a hundred people of a minimum of 10 other careers. From my perspective, having to work with economists, administrators, lawyers, literature, and design students, has given me an insight I wouldn’t have gained anywhere else. Being in the logistics department has given me an opportunity of broadening and improving my emotional intelligence skills (since my school days, I have been a people person and a leader). Furthermore, I have gained experience in being able to be professional, diplomatic, and persuasive with different kinds of people (students, faculties, and sponsors from each delegation, administrative staff at my University) to achieve specific goals. I learned how to ‘sell’ the UN Model to different students from countries apart from Colombia.
