Personal summary

I am the competent person for several major companies within various industries, including motor groups, logistics and manufacturing. I audit all the businesses annually, this covers their responsibilities for LOLER, PUWER, COSHH (including LEV issues), DSEAR and COMAH. I have guided both the management team and workforce to a positive safety culture using various material such as; training advise, eLearning support, coupling HS with LEAN and applying to the working practices. I provide knowledge and experience on workplace incidents, including RIDDOR, this includes liaising with local authorities on behalf of clients. Using the HSG65’s PDCA model, I have managed change for clients within the private sector who have minimal OHS systems in place. Project managed and implemented OHS systems including building cloud-based systems to allow clients to manage their EHS globally across various sites. Demonstrating and managing to all levels of the client’s business accident investigation, prevention and reduction, understanding patterns from incident, accidents and near miss to enable prevention or reduction. I specialise within the Logistics industry, managing HS, COMAH sites and Fleet Risk Management for SME and large organisations covering haulage operations, distribution centers, warehouses and commercial vehicles. To achieve affective and positive fleet risk I use various tools, for example; driver behavioral monitoring, tachograph systems, telematics and insurance claims to build driver portfolios to then create and deliver training and focus plans. Undertaken and trained clients to carryout vehicle incident investigations, demonstrating to look beyond the immediate incident and to include for example; previous incidents, insurance claims, driver performance (past and present), driver training and experience, personal issues, age and ability and all vehicle data. I advise companies on workplace illness and accidents e.g. HAV, dermatitis and undertake noise and HAV assessments. I can focus a company’s management on its risk’s solutions in a structured manner e.g. dovetailing haulage CPC within the companies H&S strategy. I am a qualified and experienced DSEAR assessor working within high risk industries such as aerosol manufacturing. I manage the implication of environment legislation on sites, body shops, and hazardous waste producers. I collate data and produce quarterly reports for senior managers and board members and advise on additional or focused actions for continual improvements to their HS
